What is happening and why.

The 2611 Opinion

Whenever something terrible happens to us, we as the common people of the country have no place to have our say. TV and print media is utterly unaccesible and we know no other way of getting ourselves heard. But in a democracy, it is very important that the people are heard, that each and everyone of us is heard.

On the 3rd of December, 2008, let us all have our say on what we feel about the terrorist attack that happened on the 26th of November, 2008 in south Mumbai. A few of us have gotten together and made a few comics which talk about the situation we have on our hands. These comics take a humorous look at the grim things we have to face, of course, in a non frivolous way.

Do come and have a look at these comics, placed at exactly the places where these things took place - the Marine drive, the Gateway of India and Metro Cinema from 8 am in the morning to 7 pm at night.

We also have a message board for you to write a message to our politicians, our security forces, our police force or just for us, the common people.

Do spread the word around and let others know. Come and have your say which will be featured on a blog for itself. Later we will also have discussions on the opinion of the people, that is us.

Nothing is more important in a democracy than what you and I think. Come have your say for it is not important that the 'outsiders' hear us, but that our own people know what we expect from them and to thank those who put their lives on the line for our safety on a daily basis.

Who we are - We are nobody important. Just a bunch of 20 somethings with something to say. We will be standing at the places mentioned above. In case you want our names, we are Akshay, Anish, Gaurav, Pranav and Priyanshi.
